Summary
Xenophon: Hellenic History
Hellenic History is the title of the work of the ancient Greek writer Xenophon, which consists of seven books and covers a period of 48 years; from 411 BC Kr. – 362 BC Kr. Hellenic history, as it seems, was not conceived as a single work, but was written in sequels, which were probably eventually published together, but without the necessary revision.
Xenophon begins his work, without any introduction, with a description of the Peloponnesian War where Thucydides left off in the History of the Peloponnesian War, that is, with the battle of Kinosema in the fall of 411 BC. Cr.
