Summary
Janez Trdina: Bach's Hussars and Illyrians
Memories from my years as a professor in Croatia (1853-1867)
In this book, Janez Trdina published his memories of Croatia, of the conditions there more than a century ago, in fact during the gloomy era of Bach's absolutism, when the Viennese government treacherously and at the same time calculatedly sent professors from Slovenia, the Czech Republic, Poland, and Tyrol to Croatia, with the intention to nationally shake and Germanize Croatian schools and make it impossible for the conscious sons of the Croatian people.
