Summary
Duško Kečkemet: SPLIT MY YOUTH: appearance and life of the city between the two world wars
The art historian and culturologist, responsible for the preservation of Split and Dalmatian heritage, presented his memories of Split itself, of life and opportunities in it before the Second World War, marking its main urban changes, features, social level, way of life, childhood and youth. In shorter entries, the reader is introduced to legendary topos, social life, life by the sea, beaches, culture, theater, and events that changed the face of Split. Therefore, the book will end with the so-called with the development of Split, i.e. the end of the real Split, a typical city with everything a city needs in its golden age, and with a reminder of the truth about the scarcity and poverty of the social class that lived almost unknown in the very neighborhood of the Split palaces.
