Very rare book on the history of journalism, photographs of magazines from NDH

Bauer, Ernest, Croatian publicist and political scientist (Zagreb, 4. IV. 1910 – Zagreb, 29. XII. 1995). He graduated in literature in 1932 in Zagreb, and received his doctorate in 1939 in Leipzig. After the establishment of the NDH, he worked in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Zagreb as an advisor and head of the Journalism Office, and then from the end of October 1941 as an advisor to the embassy and press attache in the embassy of the NDH in Bucharest. Year In 1942, he returned to Zagreb, where he held various positions, such as that of head of the Department for Germanic Lands in the Political Department; In 1945, he was appointed consul in Prague, but due to the collapse of the NDH, he did not take up the post. After the war, he lived in Austria (obtained his doctorate in political science in Graz in 1954) and FR Germany and worked as a journalist. Works: Croatian Soldier in the Thirty Years' War (1940), Croats in the Thirty Years' War (1941), The Development of Journalism in Croatia (Die Entwicklung der Publizistik in Kroatien, 1942) and Memories Life is a Short Dream (1985).
