The book contains the text of the minutes of the work of the first Croatian Catholic Congress, which, based on shorthand notes, was edited, compiled and printed by Stjepan Korenić, the editor of Katolički list between 1896 and 1904, and an extensive introductory study by historian Dr. Mario Strecha. It is a document that represents a testimony about an event very important for understanding the history of Croatian Catholicism from the end of the 19th century - the only Catholic congress ever organized within the framework of Croatian Catholicism. The Catholic Congress was convened in 1900 with the intention of harmonizing the entire private and social life in Croatia with the principles of Catholic doctrine.
