Summary
Feliks Niedzielski: Social Essays
Feliks Niedzielski (1912-1947), originally Polish, was born in Banja Luka. As a doctor of law, he dealt with social issues and sociology. Niedzielski was also a poet, prominent Catholic activist and promoter of Catholic social teaching, and president of the Great Crusader Brotherhood until 1942. As a political official during the NDH and commander of the Ustaše youth, his life ended, in fact, as an innocent victim, convicted and executed for the wrongdoings of others.
Felix Niedzielski's works and themes are characterized by the consistent application and interpretation of the Catholic social teaching of the time, particularly expressed in papal encyclicals, as well as a fierce confrontation with communism and liberalism from the perspective of philosophy. Namely, Niedzielski believes that the social teaching of the Church, with its solidarism, lies between the ruling extremes, liberalism and Marxism.
