Summary

Ante Starčević: Some Memories

Zagreb
Press of the National Printing House
1870.

Starčević here accurately predicts what happened after his death, namely that a dominant people within the Slavic community will gain supremacy and that the Slavic name will be erased. Illyrianism is the father of Yugoslavia. Terms such as Mamluks and Janissaries are mentioned. They denote a group of political opponents of the Party of Rights. It is impossible to study this book without the polemic "Would it be towards Slavs or towards Croatia?" because a few memories follow on from that, they could comfortably be put into one whole, so that this is also a review of that other whole about the harmfulness of Illyrianism and Yugoslavianism.
