The book presented to experts and the general public by Dr. Vladimir Krivošejev and Dr. Rade Ristanović is a continuation of their research in the field of museology and the protection of cultural assets in the territory of occupied Serbia during the Second World War. This topic has not been analyzed in detail in our historiography so far. The work of the museum during the occupation was mostly given less attention within the broader syntheses written when celebrating the jubilee of individual museums. This publication is structured according to the thematic-chronological principle and the authors managed to provide us with a comprehensive analysis of the research topic. In certain segments, the publication jumps out of the given chronological boundaries. The same applies to the history of initiatives and the adoption of legislation and the creation of a framework for the development of heritage activities in Serbia from the end of the 19th to the end of the 20th century.
