Summary
Central Europe: reality - myth - utopia/A Central Europe of Our Own
*The book is written in Croatian and English.
The term Central Europe - Mitteleuropa - referred to the countries originating from the former Austria-Hungary which disappeared at the end of the First World War. Today's concept of Central Europe has been historically expanded and includes all the countries of the former Eastern Bloc, which are located outside the Russian-speaking area. The author of this study, Nikola Petković, tried to introduce readers to new theoretical views on the literary and cultural history of certain countries in Central Europe. The special feature of this book is that the same work is in the same cover, but in Croatian and English. It is not only about the translation of one work into another language, but both presentations are adapted to the recipients of the respective speaking areas.
