Grorichard Alain

Summary

Alain Grorichard: Structure of the Saraj-Asian despotism as a figment of imagination in the West in the 18th century

French theorist Alain Grorichard's book "Structure of the Saraj" is subtitled "Asian despotism as a figment of the imagination in the West in the 18th century". It is a psychoanalytical study of a European psychosis that prevailed in the 17th and 18th centuries. Her desire is to penetrate into the fascination and horror of the West in the then conflict with the East (Turkish penetration into Europe). The author's point of departure is that every form of political power is based on a certain sexual economy. Penetration into the structure of harem=saraj, polygamy only for One, illuminates Western monogamous marriage and more: us today, our history.
