The book was created as a result of decades of scientific research on Jewish communities in Croatia, and is characterized by a multitude of precise data as well as a large number of illustrations and photographs. It consists of three parts: in the first, the author describes data on the settlement of Jews in Croatia, historical and demographic changes in the Jewish population, and a general overview of the period from the 18th to the 20th century. In the second chapter, the Jewish municipalities that existed before the Second World War are dealt with in detail; their historical origin and disappearance during the Holocaust period is described. The third part provides detailed statistical data on these municipalities.
