Summary
Robert Walter: Three Contributions to a Pure Theory of Law
The three papers published in this book deal with specific problems of Kelsen's Pure Theory of Law. In his later theory, Kelsen explained that a strict distinction should be made between scientific judgments about norms and the norms themselves. The rules of logic can, of course, be applied to scientific judgments, but not to norms. The problems given are dealt with in the first attachment. In the Pure Theory of Law, the assumption of a basic norm plays a central role. The second contribution deals with it. The third part examines the teachings of justice with regard to their usability.
