Cyrulnik Boris | De Fontenay Elisabeth | Singer Peter

Summary

Boris Cyrulnik, Peter Singer, Elisabeth de Fontenay: Animals have rights too

Interviews conducted by Karin Lu Matignon in collaboration with David Rozane

They suffer just like us. And like us, they enjoy prosperity. Sometimes even better than us, they know how to impose themselves with cunning and intelligence. How then can we continue to treat them as "things", content only to condemn abuse? But should we grant them rights because of that, and if so, which ones? And who will take care of their application.

To answer these questions, as well as many others, Boris Cyrulnik, ethologist and neuropsychiatrist, Elisabeth de Fontenay, philosopher, and Peter Singer, founder of the animal liberation movement and bioethicist, cross their views and confront their knowledge about animal problems.

Three different sensibilities, three different professional experiences, three forms of engagement: the path has been traced, regardless of differences and contradictions, and partly thanks to them, so that the legislator would be forced to make the contract that we need without delay, for us and our brothers by animality, in the name of human dignity.
