The topic of context has been omnipresent since the beginning of the existence of psychology as a science, and the need to play a role takes a holistic view of the context, considering the context as a separate research variable stems from the fact that, although the context is always present, it is usually mentioned in scientific papers somewhat incidentally or as a possible explanation for some results that do not fit into the theory and are not in line with expectations. Then, when scientists dealt with the context as a variable, it very quickly got its specific name and the fact that it is actually about the context was again neglected. This is why this book is extremely important. She brings contextual variables back into a common framework and discusses their role in different areas of psychology.
