Summary

Ivan Nastović: The migrations of Miloš Crnjanski in the light of Vuk Isaković's dreams

With the archetypal wise dreams of Vuk Isaković, the tragically beautiful hero Sebo, about an endless blue circle with a star, the author of Seoba Miloš Crnjanski in the light of Vuk Isaković's dreams (Prometheus, Novi Sad, 2007, p. 193) tried to peer into the deep psychology not only of this novel but also of his author, Miloš Crnjanski. The archetypal symbolism of Vuk Isaković's dreams is closely related to the main theme of the novel, but also to the creativity and psychological functioning of its author. Like all Seob actors, and especially the two main heroes of the novel, Vuk and Pavle Isaković, Crnjanski also lived deeply inside and outside of himself Vuk's mysteriously beautiful and miraculous, archetypal dreams, which are interpreted in this monograph through Jung's method of amplification. Accordingly, Nastović does not deal with a literary or philosophical, i.e. metaphysical, but a deep-psychological approach to the Migrations, and this in the light of Vuk Isaković's dreams, which, as he shows us, are also the dreams of Miloš Crnjanski, but also the author of this monograph, as well as all those who are searching for their endless blue circle with a star, that is, for the archetype of meaning, which gives the Migrations an optimistic character, which can also be seen from the final words of the novel: "There was a migration and there will be forever, as well as births, which will continue. There are no deaths."
