Bernardin's lectionary, as we accept here, even in the title, simpler and more concise, perhaps more accepted, the name of the first Croatian dated printed Latin book (incunabula), was published in transcription by Tomislav Maretić as long ago as 1885, as Bernardin's Lectionary according to the first edition from 1495. Dragica Malić taught us that it is very necessary to highlight the designation "dated" - because it is indeed well-founded that the older one is a Dubrovnik printed Latin prayer book that has not been dated, which is often forgotten. It is about the year 1495, which Bernardino's lectionary ranks among the oldest Slavic incunabula; the place of printing was Venice, and the printer Damjan from Milan. 104 sheets were printed in two colors (black and red) in Gothic letters. It is interesting that the copy of the incunabula on which Maretić prepared his transcription disappeared in the whirlwind of the Second World War, and only three have survived to this day. In 1991, a reprint based on preserved copies was published, edited by Josip Bratulić.
