Summary
Nikolaj Berdjaev: The Philosophy of Inequality: Letters on the Philosophy of Society to People Who Don't Love Me
The mature philosophy of Berdjaev, deeply imbued with the pathos of freedom, clearly and sharply formulates the very problem of freedom. Personality and deed are in complete harmony here. Seeing the importance of freedom for the meaning of the world and man, Berdyaev consistently developed numerous themes that occupied world philosophy and theology, of course, primarily Christian thought. From the point of view of his philosophy of freedom, he reflects on topics such as spirit versus nature, symbol and dogma, discovery, faith, evil, redemption, knowledge and mysticism, eschatology, the church and its place in the world, and numerous others. He presented his thinking in a convincing, and above all, interesting and inspired way, which made him one of the most widely read Russian and European philosophers. For all who love freedom and think about its mystery and depth, Berdyaev remains a great teacher. That is why it is not an exaggeration to call him the apostle of freedom!
