Silvije Grubišić: The Pentateuch of Moses - Croatian Bible volume 1 (eighth edition)

Silvije Grubišić, biblical scholar, writer and translator. He was born in Sovići near Posušje on April 2, 1910, and died in West Allice, Wisconsin (USA) on May 12, 1985. He was engaged in translating the Holy Scriptures in America and researching biblical topics based on the latest material and comparing the original texts. His, linguistically refined, translation of the Pentateuch was included in the Zagreb Bible, published by Real in 1968 in Zagreb. Grubišić's unchanged translation of the Old Testament was printed in America in eight volumes from 1973 to 1983. Due to his untimely death in 1985, Mr. Grubišić did not manage to complete the translation of the New Testament, although he had the Gospels and Acts of the Apostles in preparation
