Festive minej of Božidar Vuković Podgoričanin 1538

The first phototype edition of "Festival minej" (1538), a book from the printing press of the famous Montenegrin printer Božidar Vuković Podgoričanin.

It is about the most important book in terms of craftsmanship and art that Božidar Vuković from Podgorica published in Venice. The edition is the result of cooperation between Matica Montenegrin and the National Library of Bulgaria.

As stated by Matica Montenegrin, an integral part of the phototype edition is the supplement, which contains texts by Dr. Marija Polimirova and Prof. Dr. Božidar Šekularac in Montenegrin, Bulgarian and English.

The editor of the edition, Dr. Marija Polimirova, states in the appendix that the goal of this phototype edition is to present the Festival Minej published in 1538 by Božidar Vuković, in its full volume of 432 leaves.

It was created based on a digital copy of theFestive minuet,stored in the National Library of St. Cyril and Methodius in Sofia." The library owns five well-preserved copies of this edition from the printing house of Vuković and Polimirov, adding that "our attention was focused on selecting the most suitable of these copies for the preparation and printing of the phototype edition".

The book was published in 500 numbered copies and in the original format. This copy is 42/500.
