LETUNIĆ, Vlaho (Letunich, Lettunich; Biaggio, Blasius, Mihajlo, Miho), religious writer (Mihanići near Gruda, d. 1735 — Dubrovnik, 3. II. 1799). Joined the Franciscan Order in 1751. According to F. Jurić, he completed his philosophical and theological studies in Italy. After his return, in addition to other duties, he was the guardian of the monastery of the Province of St. Francis. He spent most of his time in the monastery in Dubrovnik, where he gained a reputation as an excellent preacher. In Slano, he built a small church next to the monastery in 1758. While serving there, he clashed with the guard and was deprived of honor and service in the Order. Under unclear circumstances, he went to Naples and spent several years there in fasting and prayer. In the atmosphere of the Catholic renewal, using C. K. van Adrichem's work on the life of Jesus, he compiled the booklet Holy Way of the Cross (1768; I. A. Kaznačić states that it was printed in two different editions), which, being practical and the first of its kind in our country, gained great popularity.
