Archpriest (archpriest) Habakkuk, at the head of the Old Believers (Old Believers), opposed the reforms of his former friend Patriarch Nikon, for which he was exiled to Siberia by order of the emperor. For the last 14 years of his life, he was imprisoned in the fortress in Pustozjorsk on Pechora, where he wrote Life (1672–75), the first autobiography in Russian literature, which is full of many realistic observations. Burnt at the stake.
