Dragiša Vasić: Nine Hundred Three
Dragiša Vasić's intriguing historiographical book Nine Hundred Three describes one of the biggest earthquakes in Serbian history. Although more than 120 years have passed since then, the May Uprising is an event that left a huge mark on national history. Much is known today, but the value of information and personal impressions about that May 29, about King Alexander, Queen Draga, Apis, the conspirators, which Vasić, as a contemporary, gifted writer, chronicler, connoisseur of international relations and internal circumstances, presents is priceless. With his exquisite sense of detail, he pointed out numerous facts that others had missed and described the causes and reasons for the overthrow of the Obrenović dynasty.
