Marija Koprivica: Estates and economy of monasteries in medieval Serbia

In her research, Marija Koprivica paid attention to all available and known sources, as well as relevant, abundant literature. With her research, she made a new contribution to the knowledge of an important segment of the history of the church, but also of the entire Serbian medieval society. Monastery estates represented a significant segment of the economy and society in the Serbian Middle Ages. This especially applies to royal monasteries, endowments of rulers, who were also among the largest feudal lords, with estates of 50-60 villages each and various other incomes. Only after this monograph is it possible to see the important role of monasteries in Serbian medieval society as a whole.
