Ivana Brlić - Mažuranić: Apprentice Hlapić
Go on an unforgettable journey with the small, brave boy Hlapić - a hero who escaped from the injustice inflicted on him by the strict master Mrkonja.
In this story, full of adventures and temptations, Hlapić wins the hearts of everyone he meets with his kindness and courage, bringing joy, creating friendships and doing good wherever his journey takes him. This timeless story of Ivana Brlić Mažuranić was retold for the youngest by Miro Božić, and painted by Stjepan Lukić. Ivana Brlić-Mažuranić, known as the "Croatian Andersen", created the character of Hlapić, a small apprentice "as big as an elbow, cheerful as a bird, brave as Kraljević Marko, wise as a book, and good as the sun". Thanks to her classics such as The Strange Adventures of the Apprentice Hlapić and Tales from the Past, she was twice nominated for the Nobel Prize. She was recognized all over the world, and she was also the first female member of the Academy in Croatia.
