Summary
Vinko Brešić: Croatian literature of the 19th century
It is a historiographic construction that starts not only from the idea of the nation and the idea of literature as a structured institution, but also from the idea of Croatian literature as a relatively solid structure. At the end, there is a summary of the book, its translation into English, extensive bibliography organized by book chapters, and an index of terms and names. In addition to several tables, the book is accompanied by several hundred black-and-white and color illustrations. Although it is intended primarily for students of Croatian literary studies, it will be useful for anyone interested in the beginnings of modern Croatian culture and its literature.
