Hrvatski putopisi(2.izd)

Brešić Vinko

Summary

Croatian travel books

edited by Vinko Brešić, Ph.D.

Travel literature has been written in Croatia for about a hundred years, although travel writing is also noted in works of art of other genres. But until the journalistic report or travelogue in the narrow sense of the word did not reach the level of artistic achievement, a lot of time passed. Nemčić, Matija Mažuranić, Josip Horvat, Peić, Horvatić and many others are already travelogue classics. In 1955, Slavko Ježić created the collection "Hrvatski putopisci", to which this last one is similar, but introduces new names. In the preface, a lot has been said about Croatian travel writing, but also about travel writing in general based on knowledge of world literature.

Second amended and revised edition.
