The book is a scientific study from the interdisciplinary field of cultural theory. With the comprehensive ambition of the contemporary critical theory of culture, the author wants to show that the subject or singularity (its expressions) is neither a modern nor a Cartesian phenomenon, it is neither "overcome" nor "superfluous" (the entire second and third chapters are devoted to contesting the aforementioned classifications), but still or always arises again in the rhetorical cradle in which it was introduced to ancient culture, that is, as a combination of dramatic, philosophical and judicial discourse. This study is multifold important for contemporary culture, its critical approach syncretically touches all the most important areas from dramatology, epistemology to the philosophy of the subject.
