Summary
Robert Sullo: Teach them to be happy
In order to be happy, young children - like adults - need to regularly meet their basic psychological needs in a balanced way. Adults should not benevolently give happiness to children, but teach them to create their own happiness by choosing appropriate behaviors. In the book Teach Them to Be Happy, Robert Sullo, a school psychologist and father of three, suggests that we can best help children by teaching them how to develop responsible behaviors that will lead to happier and healthier lives. Based on the book The Pursuit of Happiness by E. P. Good, Teach Them to Be Happy shows parents and teachers (educators) how to introduce the idea of creating their own happiness to young children by choosing the appropriate behaviors needed to meet their needs in a balanced way.
