Summary
Kazimir Maljevic: Bog nije zbačen
Collected works Maljevic's collected works in five volumes "Bog nije zbačen", whose translation into Serbian is also the first translation of that edition in the world in general, were first published in Russia in the period from 1995 to 2004, by the publishing house "Gileja". The book "God is not overthrown" consists of Maljevic's theoretical texts, lectures, letters, declarations, manifestos, notes, as well as 200 color reproductions of his works. At the beginning of his career, Kazimir Maljevic was influenced by impressionism, and later by cubism and futurism. He achieved the most significant progress as the founder of objectless art - suprematism (supremus - the one who is higher, most important, perfect). At the "0.10" exhibition, he exhibited his 49 Suprematist canvases, among which the most famous is "Black Square". By painting "The Black Square", Maljevic announced the "death of object art" in 1915. Given that he believed that Suprematism was the beginning of a new culture and that the time had come for painters to stop looking for inspiration in existing objects and phenomena, Maljevic is considered the predecessor of conceptual art.
