Drago Trumbetaš: The cycle "Dear Vincent" correspondence with Van Gogh

The cycle "Dear Vincent": correspondence with Van Gogh is a well-known monograph and artistic project of the prominent Croatian naïve artist and writer Dragu Trumbetaš (Dragutin Trumbetaš), published in 2009. This book presents a unique dialogue in which the author communicates with the great painter Vincent van Gogh through drawings, letters and poetic notes, finding deep parallels between Van Gogh's life and his own fate as a Croatian worker abroad (guest worker).

The book combines Trumbetaš's distinctive drawing style with textual records (letters) addressed to "to dear Vincent". The work also contains translations into German.
The artist draws a parallel between the misunderstanding and suffering of Vincent van Gogh and the arduous, often marginalized life of immigrant workers in Germany, which is also the central motif of Trumbetaš's entire oeuvre.
