François Joseph Maire (1738 - c. 1800) was a French cartographer, hydrographer and military engineer based in Vienna, active from the mid to late 18th century. Believed to have been born in Lorraine, France, Maire published numerous maps, and is particularly known for maps made during the Russo-Turkish War of 1787 - 1792, which took place simultaneously with the Austro-Turkish War.
Detailed map of parts of Croatia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Albania with the fortified cities of Dubrovnik, Shkodra, Bar and many others. - Francois Joseph Maire (1738 - around 1800) was a publisher, geographer and engineer active in Vienna. He published some maps related to the Russo-Austrian-Turkish War of 1787-91. - With traces of original folds. Horizontal fold lined with paper as a precaution.
