Summary
Sid Kemp, Eric Dunbar: Budgeting for Managers
About the book:
Budgeting is more than just numbers. It supports the performance and teamwork of you and your department. By preparing your department's budget, you ensure the finances and resources your team needs to be successful. If you manage money and allow other members of your team to participate in spending decisions, you encourage your team to plan well, collaborate and get results. If your team is successful, it is a success for you and your company. This manual was written for an inexperienced manager like me at the time, only a few years out of college and with a degree in humanities. I wish I had this manual in my hands in those days.
The co-author of this manual and I took great care to include all aspects of budgeting: income and expenses, business processes and projects, budget preparation and presentation. Most of the chapters are aimed at readers working in medium-sized or large companies to help them work with accounting and finance departments, and we also have a chapter for those who work independently. No matter what kind of budget you need to create, this is the manual for you. From the Foreword, Sid Kemp
