Positioning her scientific interest within the cultural anthropological and ethnological researches of food, the author Jelena Ivanišević in this manuscript explores the genre variety of culinary and gastronomic texts, which she approaches as a new literary and journalistic phenomenon in Croatia: the tradition of writing about food. Placing her analytical reading of culinary and gastronomic texts between the currently dominant research platform of food studies, which unites the approaches of various scientific disciplines, and the literary-historical understanding of a certain literary phenomenon, the author succeeds in describing the origin and development of what we understand today by culinary literature. [...] Argumentatively and sovereignly, she proved the establishment of a new literary genre - gastronomic literature and achieved the peak of interest in culinary and gastronomic narratives.
