First edition in English. The book was first published in French in 1800. Fifty colored graphics with depictions of folk costumes. Each graphic is accompanied by text in English and French (English translation by M. Dallas). The list of graphics at the beginning of the book, after the (also bilingual) introductory text, in which it is emphasized: "We have here, therefore, confined ourselves to the most remarkable dresses in the Hereditary States of the House of Austria." The costumes of the Slovenian, Croatian and Boko Kotor regions are shown on the following plates: pl. 4 - 9 - costumes of Upper Carniola, pl. 30 - Hrvatica, pl. 34 - 38 - costumes of Boka Kotorska.
