Summary
Dumont: Ancient Philosophy
For us, Mediterranean by culture, ancient philosophy is the same as Greek philosophy. Namely, we learned from her which problems are most worthy of the attention of the spirit in its aspiration to reach the essence, that is, their truth, through the impermanent appearance and changing face of things. We also owe her the first lessons about virtue that our civilization could accept, and in her, finally, we find the strongest roots of our classical humanism.
