Iz prve biografije Sidarte, kasnije Bude, saznajemo da je u mladosti bio potpuno nesvjestan bijede ljudske sudbine. He was the son of a king and lived in luxury, comfort and listening to music until he reached adulthood. He was already married when the gods decided to enlighten him. One day he saw an infirm old man, then a sick man, a sufferer and finally a corpse. Only then did he become aware that old age, suffering and death exist in the world, all painful aspects of life that were unknown to him until then. Because of this, he decided to withdraw from the world, become a monk and look for the path to nirvana.
