Summary
Milan Kundera: The Book of Laughter and Forgetting
This work by Kundera is difficult to define unambiguously because, due to its genre complexity, it can be read at the same time as a novel and as a fairy tale and as a literary and political discussion and as a musicological study and as an autobiography. The book was published in 1979 during Kundera's French exile, and because of it he was allegedly deprived of his Czech citizenship in the early 1980s.
