Heinrich August Noë (München, 16.7.1835 - Bolzano, 26.8.1896) - German novelist and travel writer, pioneer of modern tourism. Studied comparative literature and natural sciences in Munich and Erlangen. From 1857 to 1863, court librarian in Munich. From 1865 he published a whole series of travelogues. In 1883, he published one of the first guides to Opatija - Abbazia und seine Umgebung.
