Mithad Kozličić: Eastern Adriatic in the work of Beautemps-Beaupre

The book as a whole was published as a bilingual monograph (Croatian-English). Scientifically analyzes the hydrographic campaigns in the eastern Adriatic in 1806 and 1808-1809. year of the famous French hydrographer and cartographer Charles Francois Beautemps-Beaupré. It was published in conjunction with the 200th anniversary of those hydrographic researches, which is the same anniversary of the scientific phase of the development of hydrography in the Adriatic Sea, and its direct institutional successor is the contemporary Croatian Hydrographic Institute in Split, a scientific research institution with a respectable reputation in international relations. The first part of the book is a scientific study of Beautemps-Beaupré's achievements in both research campaigns. Behind it is a copy of the published "Report" on those campaigns in 1849, and below is Bautemps-Beupré's direct cartographic material on the same water area in comparison with similar earlier and later cartographic material. Of course, with all cards, a scientific analysis is necessary. At the end of the book are indexes of toponyms from the text "Reports" and cartographic material, as well as indexes of persons, ships, used measures, i.e. a chronological overview of the most important achievements in hydrography and cartography of the Adriatic from the end of the 18th to the beginning of the 20th century.
