The most beautiful Adriatic anchorages, edited by its editor-in-chief, Braslav Karlić. The need for such a book has existed for a long time. As a rule, sailors like to anchor, and the Croatian coast of the Adriatic abounds with good anchorages, so it is logical to describe them in one place.
Of course, most experienced sailors know some good or popular anchorages or some lesser-known bay where anchorage is usually found on the Adriatic. However, there are few who know them all. For everyone else, this guide has been prepared, which describes one hundred and thirty-six of the most famous. It was created primarily on the basis of the experience gained during many years of sailing by the author and members of the editorial staff of More magazine. Their descriptions have been published for years in Mor and the editions prepared for foreign sailors sailing the Adriatic. Numerous new anchorages have been added to this publication, while the old descriptions have been significantly expanded and standardized. Each anchorage is described in detail, and not only its nautical characteristics - depths, protection, type of bottom, holding the anchor, etc. - but the texts also contain interesting things that the sailor will come across when sailing to an anchorage and which are worth seeing. Sometimes it's about visiting some valuable monument, sometimes about climbing a nearby peak from which you can see the surrounding water area, sometimes the author directs you to a good tavern nearby or suggests that you sit in a dinghy and wonder around the cape that protects the bay where you anchored. The description of each anchorage is illustrated with at least one photograph and a plan of the bay. For easier navigation, the Croatian Adriatic is divided into nine water areas based on the principle of the most common and logical navigation areas. At the end of the book, you will also find some tips on how to anchor and behave at anchorages, where, unlike marinas and ports, you will still be able to enjoy the silence of summer nights, without the noise of cars, disco clubs and cafes, only with a good dinner, some wine and moonlight. There is also a list of concessionaires at anchorages with telephone numbers where you can get all the necessary information about a locality, ask if there are free buoys or announce your arrival.
