The Novak Collection - Mappae Croaticae is undoubtedly one of the few, most important and richest Croatian cartographic collections. With many years of dedicated work and diligence, Drago Novak has collected a cartographic collection of 570 sheets of geographical maps, 63 volumes of atlases with associated Novak bookplates, and 99 volumes of books, also with associated bookplates. During his lifetime, he often visited the National and University Library in Zagreb and expressed his wish that after his death the Novak Collection would be stored and processed in the Collection of Geographical Maps and Atlases as a complete rounded unit, digitized, published as a catalog and that users and the general public would be able to see this unique valuable Croatian cartographic cultural heritage.
