Summary

Anya Bergman: Tarot Reader from Versailles

Is fate written in tarot cards? In the early days of the French Revolution, terror, violence and fear rule the streets of Paris. The people are scared, the revolutionaries are thirsty for blood, and the aristocrats are worried about the new situation. At the crossroads of the old and new order is Adelaide Lenormand, a young woman with extraordinary talent, widely known to people as a skilled tarot reader. Because of her reputation, her clients come from all walks of life, from generals to milkmaids, all of whom have shaved at least once in her salon in search of answers. At the invitation of Marie Antoinette, Adelaide Lenormand will go to Versailles to read the tarot to a fragile Austrian princess, a despised French queen and a worried mother, not knowing that she will befriend this extraordinary woman. However, the tarot cards directed Adelaide to another meeting with a certain Kate Molloy, a temperamental Irish woman who would take part in the liberation of Ireland. And Kate, like Adelaide, has a personality in her - she can read the past from the palm of her hand. These two exceptional women will become loyal friends and companions in difficult times, and at a critical moment they will risk everything to achieve their ideals at the cost of losing friendship and each other forever...
