Summary

Dejan Stojiljković: Dorćolski Requiem

Sequel to the novel Seraphim: Chronicles of Nemanja Lukića

From the universe of Constantine's Crossroads

Winner of the Andrić Award.

Aleksandar Malavrazić, a worn-out private detective from Belgrade, receives an invitation to solve an unusual case. His client is the mysterious organization Institute for Research of the Other World. He soon realizes that he was actually hired by his old acquaintance, an immortal who participated in both world wars, accompanied the occupation, the time of Tito, Milošević and was a witness to everything that happened in the following decades in the eternally turbulent and interesting history of Serbia - Nemanja Lukić.

Together with him, detective Malavrazić will try to solve the mystery of the eerie lagoons that branch off under Dorćol and where, according to urban legend, the "soft spots" are located, the points in universe which, according to the insiders, lead directly to Hell. But that's not all, because Malavrazić is haunted by his own past, especially one case in which he came into serious conflict with a powerful criminal clan.

While trying to solve the numerous enigmas he constantly encounters, he sees the true nature of his employer, as well as the fact that, according to Lukić himself, Serbia is a land of secrets. It is this realization that leads the detective to a place where ancient beings, pagan gods and depraved ordinary mortals live among the shadows.
