Summary
Davor Kristić: Ivo Andrić - a chronicle of dishonesty
Political and diplomatic biography of Ivo Andrić
This is the first book in Croatia that uncomplicatedly exposes the myth of Ivo Andrić, since so far no Croatian author has published a critical approach to Andrić's diplomatic and political involvement in this way.
Facts about Andrić that were hidden from the general public include his programs of ethnic cleansing of Albanian Muslims and Turks in the Kingdom. Yugoslavia, Andrić's incitement to the killing of supporters of republicanism in Zagreb in 1918, his call for the assassination of Stjepan Radić, Andrić's praise of Hitler who "stands at the head of the Great German Reich with so much success and dignity", Andrić's support for the Chetnik leader Draža Mihailović, his condemnation of Savka, Tripala and Stepinac, asking Krleža to omit the fact that he is of Croatian origin in the encyclopedia, along with Andrić's glorification of Stalin and Tita.
The book represents an approach to Andrić's diplomatic and political activities that has not been recorded in Croatia so far, supported by sources from literary sources and archival materials. This book gave a voice to those who knew who Ivo Andrić really was.
