Summary
Clive Barker: Books of Blood 1
Books of Blood were originally published in 1984 and 1985 as a series of six collections of superb, modern stories of visceral horror, which received an extraordinary reception from both critics and the public, establishing the then young author as one of the most significant figures in genre literature. And what is characteristic of the stories collected in Blood Books is that they are still relevant today, almost forty years after their first publication. Out of a total of thirty stories that were published, almost a third experienced film adaptations. In addition to prose contributions, the book also contains valuable additional materials. A very detailed biography of a writer with an extremely vivid, unusual life, both private and creative, tells about all his activities, not only as a writer, but also in other media (theatre, film, comics, video games, painting, photography, etc.). The bibliography provides a comprehensive overview of everything Barker has published so far, as well as a review of the most significant books written about him and his work. At the end, there is no less important a review of the films that Barker directed, but also a review of the screen adaptations of his works by other authors. This capital hardcover edition contains 570 pages, is of large format, printed in two colors (red and black). The covers are in full color, matte plasticized and with gold print.
