Summary
Robert Jordan: A Crown of Swords
The wheel of time turns and Ages come and go, leaving behind memories that become legends. Legends fade into myths, and myths are long forgotten when the Age that spawned them reappears. In the Third Age, the Age of Prophecy, the World and Time hang in the balance. All that was, all that will be, and all that is can still fall under the Shadow. In Ebou Dar, Ninaeva, Elaina, Avietnda and Matt fight with all their might to get their hands on the powerful ter'angreal to influence the weather and end the unnatural heat the Dark One has caused. In Salidar, Egwene al'Ver, aided by Sijuan Sancha and Garrett Breen, gathers an army to attack the usurper Amyrlin Tron and reunite the White Tower. Perrin is on his way to Geldan because Queen Alejandra's support for Randa, as well as finding Masema, who is rampaging through the ravaged Geldan with a horde of followers, is an undertaking that requires ta'veren luck. At the same time, the White Cloaks are holding Queen Morgaza captive, however, how long will they be able to resist the Seanchan invasion of Amador? Rand is torn between the treacherous moves of the Lost, the rebellion of the nobility in Cairhien, and other Shadow ventures, and some terrible and long-forgotten forces of Darkness are reawakening in the shadows of Shadar Logoth. Has Rand sufficiently recovered from an unexpected attack by an old enemy? Will he manage to defeat Samael and become the king of Illian? Is and why is the Crown of Swords a heavy burden?
