Summary
Emily Henry: People Who Love Books
One Summer. Two rivals. A plot they couldn't even imagine. Nora's life is like the books she obsessively reads, but she is not a classic heroine, on the contrary. She is not brave and fearless, she is not a dream girl, and especially she is not sweet and dear. In fact, she is a heroine only to her authors, as she is the most unscrupulous literary agent in New York. The only person she can't be merciless to is her beloved younger sister. So she agrees to go to North Carolina on a sisterly trip with Libby, who believes the small town will transform Nora, so she can finally become the heroine of her own story. But instead of a picnic in the meadows or a romantic flirtation with a handsome country doctor or a muscular bartender, Nora keeps running into Charlie Lastra, an arrogant editor from the city. It could also be a nice coincidence if they haven't met for work in the past and were never comfortable. Nora knows she's no perfect heroine, and Charlie knows he's no one's hero, but as they meet again and again - in a series of coincidences no good editor would allow - what they discover could unravel the carefully crafted stories they've written about themselves.
