Summary
Carl Hiaasen: The Crazy Case Carl Hiaasen, a contemporary American writer, is considered by some literary critics to be the wittiest American writer of today, an excellent satirist and an excellent journalist. He has been compared to Mark Twain for his wit, to Ambrose Bierce for his satire, and to Raymond Chandler and Dashiell Hammett for the way he turned Florida into an "iconographic literary landscape." This is the first translation of one of Hiassen's novels into Croatian. The story is based on the "accidental" death of a rock star, and Hiaasen states that he did not find inspiration in the death of a specific rock star, but "all dead rock stars, from Jimi Hendrix to Keith Moon and Duane Allman", so this novel is in a way a dedication to all those musicians. She must also be the recently deceased Warren Zevon, a rock musician and Hiaasen's friend. (From the afterword by Marijan Orešnik)
