Summary
Maryam Madjidi: Marx and the Doll
Maryam is a born storyteller, so says her grandmother. She also has a filling for her storytelling gift, she inherited a story that begs to be told, that is worth listening to. She was born twice and since the age of six she has led a double life, torn between two homelands, divided between two linguistic and even national identities. She was born first in captivity in Tehran and again in exile in Paris; he will be born a third time, but more on that later. Maryam is also an observer; she was not born with this skill, she will acquire it in a Parisian park. There, she longingly watches the other children play, while her mother timidly listens to their mothers' conversations, ashamed of her poor French.
