About the novel "Melun", which Enver Čolaković started writing as a young man, and due to the circumstances of the Second World War, he was only able to finish it in 1950 (again reconstructing the two missing chapters), the author himself wrote during his lifetime: "The basic idea of Melun that a person poisoned by the passion for the acquisition of capital cannot be changed and reeducated by his own will, but that this requires a radical change in the social system, I think that it is presented sufficiently plastically in the novel, as well as an illustration of the time of the economic crisis from which both fascism and Nazism grew and which today is historical."
